Chronic Kidney disease is an irreversible, progressive loss of the filter units of the kidney, called nephrons, enough to cause accumulation of waste products in the body. These waste products are poisonous to the body cells and cause harm to the body. Water also accumulates, causing generalized body swelling. The loss of function is ongoing, and slowly degenerates to a stage where the patient has no option but to undergo regular maintenance dialysis or kidney transplant in order to stay alive.
Tomorrow,I will write on the possible causes of CKD and the symptoms. Feel free to comment on this blog. I promise to be more regular with updates on this topic.
